Great teachers have never limited themselves to just teaching content. They look into the hearts of their students always see teaching as their calling. They do whatever it takes to reach that kid. When I started 30 years ago I remember those teachers that bought food for kids they knew hadn't eaten or went to visit a student's home to connect with that kid. They never looked at the clock, they never thought that's not my job. They were my inspirations! A lot of times no one ever knew how hard they worked or how much they loved, except their students, whose lives were changed forever because of that one special teacher. <br /><br />Maybe the difference today is we need those kind of teachers more than ever. Back in the day those great teachers were rare. Today we need those great teachers the ones that are willing to do whatever it takes to reach their students more than ever.
